Worcester, UK – 19 March 2014 – The UK’s biggest retailer, Tesco, have chosen Postcode Anywhere’s international address validation tool, Capture+, to verify customer contact data as it is being entered on Tesco’s website in real-time.
Tesco selected Capture+ in order to prevent inaccurate data from entering their customer database, and deliveries being dispatched to the wrong address.
Tesco has always been committed to providing the best shopping experience. Today it continues to focus on doing the right thing for its customers, colleagues and the communities it serves. The deployment of Postcode Anywhere’s Capture+ in its website functionality plays an important part of that commitment.
Gareth Hanson, Project Manager at Tesco comments: “We wanted to use a service that provided daily updated addresses, including new build data, so our customers could find their address and register without hindrance whilst our existing customers could manage their address book smoothly.
“Our previous address service was not kept up-to-date daily which led to some customers not being able to register their address and checkout online because their newly built property had not been updated in the service. We were receiving a lot of feedback from our customers who wanted to shop with us, but couldn’t find their address. We really value customer feedback, so we looked to fix this problem and after the switch to Postcode Anywhere we don’t get anywhere near the same volume of feedback.
“Capture+ was really easy to integrate on our website and I’ve been really pleased with the continual support we get from Postcode Anywhere. I’ve been so impressed that I haven’t hesitated in recommending it across other parts of the business.”
Guy Mucklow CEO of Postcode Anywhere said: “The value of a fast, efficient process which enables someone to register and validate their address details in seconds; is becoming essential in any web based form, as many companies are now discovering. However, while more and more organisations are tackling data quality with address validation software, very few are taking advantage of the Not Yet Built file, Just Built file and daily updates to their database.
“With up to 5,000 address changes take place every day to the 29 million records in Royal Mail’s Postcode Address File (PAF®), the database is not a static file and is constantly changing to reflect new builds, updates and deletions. Choosing an addressing tool with daily updates will significantly improve the accuracy of customer data for retailers, opening the door to literally thousands of previously inaccessible prospects.”
Capture+ from Postcode Anywhere provides address validation for over 240 countries to improve conversion and delivery rates, by capturing accurate customer address data at the point of sale. The software integrates in websites, internal CRM systems and Point of Sale technology within minutes.
